Since i've been going into LUSH a lot more recently, I thought I would broaden my horizons and look for something other than a skincare product. I always knew Lush made hair products but i've been too scared to try them . Being Afro Caribbean , its not always easy to find products that work really well for my hair , so I tend to stick to the ones I know work . I'm yet to find a "holy grail" product for my hair type , but i'm always on the lookout for new things.
Picking a conditioner from Lush was definitely a challenge as I seriously had no clue what I was looking for . All I knew was that I have frizzy, dry, curly hair. The Lush lady kindly showed me a few products that MAY work for me, and I wanted to try them all! However I thought it would be wise to just pick one and work my way through them all until I find the best one.
As you probably guessed, the one product I chose was the American Cream conditioner. (I chose this because it smelled the best ... lol )
The product label states that this is an extra creamy conditioner , but I personally thought it wasn't thick enough. Most products for my hair type are generally extremely thick and creamy because the moisture is needed. Monday I used the product for the third time, and there is still enough in the tub for at least 3-4 more washes so a little goes a long way.
The best thing about the conditioner is the scent , it really does smell like a milkshake and the smell lasts for about two days which is perfect because I co-wash every two days!
After using the product my hair felt incredibly soft however it did nothing ... and I mean NOTHING to help with the frizz. To be honest the frizz is the most important thing when it comes to a conditioner. My hair can can feel as soft as silk but it means nothing if it's frizzy.
Overall its a great product for providing moisture and softening my hair and I would definitely recommend it to others if those are the results they are trying to receive. I will continue to use it until the bottle is done, (gotta get my money's worth) and I will not repurchase any time soon.
Lush you will be seeing me soon! I'll be on the lookout for a new hair product!
Have you ever used this product before?
