Hey guys!
Today I was browsing youtube an frame across a tutorial for lip scrub and lip balm. I thaught it was awesome so I decided to make my own version , with a few added ingredients.
I chose to make both a balm and a scrub because after using the scrub to exfoliate you will want a nice balm to set into your lips and hydrate.
What you will need to make the lip scrub
Sugar
Honey( this will help keep the consistency even )
Carmex healing balm ( I added this ingredient because its wonderful for your lips , smells great and mixes really well! Also it gives a really nice tingling feeling and you can feel your lips breathing )
Tub/ jar to put it all in ( I purchased mine from michaels at 6 for $3 so it's fairly cheap)
Also you will need a large metal spoon for the stove
The first thing you need to do :
Put about a penny sized amount of Carmax in the spoon and a tbsp of honey and melt over the stove
Once melted , let it cool slightly until you don't see any more steam and pour it into your jar
Next add 1/2 tsp of vitamin e oil and mic it all together for about 15 seconds
Next add your desired amount of sugar . Keep adding sugar and more honey while storing until your pot Is full and your scrub is at a soft consistency
It should look like this:
Let it cool an voila !! A home made lip scrub !!!
To make a lip balm you will need some of the same ingredients
Vitamin e oil
Carmex protecting lip balm
Petroleum jelly or Vaseline
Tea tree oil
Pigment color of your choice (eyeshadow , lipstick ,blusher etc.)
First thing to do is :
Pour a tsp of tea tree oil and a tsp of vitamin e oil in the jar
Next add your pigment color (the more you put the darker the color )
Depending on the size of your jar put your desired amount of petroleum jelly on the spoon along with half a Carmex balm . (If you have a big jar like mine you may need 3/4)
Melt over the stove with low heat .
Once melted let it cool until the steam is gone and pour into be jar .
Thoroughly mix everything together until you see no lumps and it is competent smooth and let it sit to dry in the fridge or in the freezer for about 15mins.
Once it is dry you will have something that looks like this :
I also made a smaller one with a darker pigment:So get to making !!!!
